Why Clove & Honey Art ?

Crafted For Artists Who Value Process & Purity

Ingredient Integrity

We use carefully selected pigments and a traditional binder blend of gum arabic, honey, clove oil, and glycerin to ensure smooth flow, strong color payoff, and long shelf life.

True Handmade Method

Every batch is hand-mulled on glass slabs and poured in multiple stages. No shortcuts, no mass processing — just slow craft and consistent quality.

Performance First

Our paints and papers are designed for real studio use — excellent rewetting, strong tinting strength, and reliable behavior across watercolor, gouache, and ink techniques.

Small Batch Quality

Produced in limited batches with close quality checks, so each pan and sheet meets the same standard artists expect from premium handmade materials.

Our Handmade Process

We Believe in Handmade, Done Right

Clove & Honey handmade watercolours are made from scratch using high-quality pigments and a gum arabic binder. True to our name, we follow a traditional artist recipe that includes honey and clove oil along with glycerin and distilled water to improve flow, preservation, and re-wetting quality.

This slow, layered drying process takes approximately 4–5 weeks — but it results in richer colour payoff, better activation, and long-lasting performance for artists.

About Me

Hi! I am Lopa, Your Paintmaker & Founder of Clove & Honey Arts

My call for paintmaking came from an extensive research and hunt to find the finest colors, that can make painting sessions calming and peaceful. I wanted to preserve the process of watercolor and paper creating a luminous tapestry of color, and do its thing: create a room of your own, wherever you are! After studing pigments and papers for 9 years, teaching hundreds of students, I wanted to create a space where artists can find their supplies that leads to actual art, NOT FRUSTRATION.

I disclose what pigments are used in the paints because knowing how certain pigments behave is a great way to get the most from your paints. I follow traditional recipes and use raw materials to make my paints non-toxic, lightfast and environment-friendly.
